What "high-frequency" actually means

Every page on your site is built on demand. A visitor asks for it, the server runs your code, fetches from the database, assembles the HTML and sends it back. All of that takes real time.

Clock speed is how fast a processor gets through that work. High-frequency CPUs run at a higher clock speed than the standard tier, so each of those steps takes fewer milliseconds – and a page that involves a lot of steps, like a filtered product listing or an on-site search, benefits most.

It isn’t magic and it isn’t unlimited. It shortens the work, and on a site doing a lot of work per page, that shows.

Where the CDN pre-cache comes in

A normal cache fills up after someone’s already waited. The first visitor to a page gets the slow version, and everyone after them gets the quick one.

Pre-caching pushes your pages out to the edge servers ahead of that, so the first person to land on a page from Manchester or Madrid gets it from a machine near them, already built. Distance stops being part of the load time.

For a site selling nationally, that’s the difference between “the site’s fine down south” and the site being fine everywhere.

Who this is for - and who it isn't

It’s likely worth it if you sell online and the traffic is steady rather than occasional; your catalogue runs into the thousands; visitors lean heavily on search and filters; you run campaigns that land a lot of people at once; or pages that used to be quick simply aren’t any more.

What makes it faster than standard hosting?

Will my site definitely get quicker?

Do I have to have Website Turbo?

Yes. High-Frequency Hosting depends on it, so it has to be enabled before any of this takes effect. We switch it on as part of the move.

What's a PHP worker, in plain English?

It’s the thing that builds one page for one visitor. Each worker handles one request at a time, so when they run out, everyone else waits in line. Scaling them with demand is what stops the queue forming.

Does it work with WordPress and WooCommerce?

Yes – along with Joomla! and Laravel. The platform is tuned for them, and you get a staging copy so changes can be tested before your customers see them.

Is this the same as having my own server?
