Queens Park Garage

Independent MOT, servicing and repair garage · Bournemouth

Off Joomla and onto WordPress with the brand and the search rankings intact - and bookings landing straight in the workshop's system.

Visit website

Queens Park Garage is an independent garage on Ashley Road in Bournemouth, handling MOTs, servicing, repairs, wheel alignment and air conditioning for drivers across Dorset and Hampshire.

It is the kind of local business that runs on trust and repeat custom – people book because somebody they know told them to. So the website had one job to do properly: get a car booked in without anyone having to pick up the phone.

Challenge

Queens Park Garage approached us to migrate their existing Joomla website to the WordPress platform. The project demanded a seamless transfer that not only modernised the site but also retained their established branding, user experience, and search engine optimisation (SEO).

Additionally, the new website needed full integration with their CRM system to enable customers to book MOTs and servicing online. A key feature requested was a number plate lookup tool, allowing customers to input their registration and automatically retrieve their vehicle’s make and model.

The Approach

A website migration is rarely a design job. The risk sits somewhere less obvious – in what quietly goes missing when a site moves. Queens Park Garage had years of search visibility and a look their customers already recognised, and neither of those survives a move on its own.

So we treated this as a move, not a redesign. The brand stayed put. The page structure and the addresses behind it were mapped across deliberately, because a rebuild that reads beautifully and ranks nowhere has cost the business more than it gained.

We took the same view of the booking. A form that sends an email is a form somebody then has to re-type into the system that actually runs the workshop – that is not a booking, it is a message about a booking. What we wanted was a customer picking a slot on the website turning into a job on the workshop’s list, once, with nobody in the middle.

And we wanted to ask that customer as little as possible. Most people know their registration. Far fewer know their engine variant off the top of their head. Better to ask for the thing they can read off the front of the car and work the rest out ourselves.

Solution

We rebuilt the website on WordPress, carefully preserving Queens Park Garage’s branding and ensuring the design remained familiar and recognisable to their customers. By maintaining their SEO throughout the migration process, we safeguarded their online visibility and search rankings.

To improve functionality, we integrated the site with their CRM system. This allowed visitors to book MOTs and servicing directly through the website, while the CRM automatically generated job tickets on the backend. Additionally, we developed and implemented a number plate lookup tool, streamlining the booking process by providing instant vehicle identification for customers.

Results

The new WordPress website provided Queens Park Garage with an updated, responsive platform while maintaining their established brand identity and SEO performance. The seamless CRM integration enhanced operational efficiency, reducing manual input and improving the customer booking experience.

Overall, the project delivered a modern, user-friendly website that met the needs of both the business and its customers.
