The keys to your systems, handed out only when they're needed

Every business has a handful of accounts that can change anything – add a user, move money, wipe a server. Keep those locked away, give them out only when there’s a job to do, and know exactly who used what and when.

From £[price] per admin user, per month. Scoped first, no long tie-in.

Why this matters

Ask most business owners who can log into their server as an administrator and the honest answer is “a few of us, and probably the last IT company”. The password has usually been the same for years, it’s shared between people, and it’s written down somewhere it shouldn’t be.

That one account is the difference between an annoying incident and a very bad week. It’s the account ransomware wants, because it’s the one that can reach everything. And IT interruption costs UK businesses an average of £3,500 an hour – before you count the stress and the awkward phone calls.

The fix isn’t to make life harder for the people who need that access. It’s to stop the keys sitting in a drawer that anyone can open.

What you get

The powerful accounts locked away

Administrator logins and service accounts kept in a protected vault, instead of a spreadsheet, a sticky note or somebody’s memory.

Access given out only when it's needed

Someone asks, gets what they need for the job, and it’s taken back afterwards – not left open for the next three years.

A record of who did what

Every use of a privileged account is logged, and sessions can be recorded – evidence you can show an insurer, an auditor or a client.

Passwords that change themselves

Privileged passwords rotate automatically on a schedule. Nobody has to remember, because nobody has to type them.

Keys kept out of your scripts and systems

The passwords and keys that connect your systems are pulled from the vault when needed, not left in plain text in a script or config file.

If access is ever misused

Here’s exactly what happens. Access can be pulled back immediately – one account, one person, or the lot – and because every use is recorded, you’re not guessing at what happened. You get it in plain English: which account, what was reached, and what it means for you.

From there, it’s your call. If you’d like us to step in and help put things right – shut it down, check what was touched, get you back to normal – we’re one phone call away. You’ve got a team who has your back.

Is this for us?

It’s worth a conversation if any of these sound familiar:

  • You’ve got a server, a domain, or systems where an administrator account can reach everything.
  • More than one person knows the admin password – or you’re not certain who does.
  • Contractors, developers or a previous IT provider have had access at some point.
  • A tender, an insurer or a compliance requirement has asked how you control privileged access.
  • Somebody who has left could probably still log in.

If none of that applies yet, a password manager on its own is very likely the right place to start. We’ll tell you that plainly rather than sell you this.

How it works

1. A 20-minute walkthrough

We go through what privileged access exists today – which accounts, which systems, who holds them. No obligation.

2. We scope it and set it up

We agree what goes in the vault first, put it in place, and get the people who need access working the new way with as little disruption as possible.

3. You keep control, we keep it running

Access is granted and taken back as things change, passwords rotate on their own, and the record builds up quietly in the background.

What it costs

From £[price] per admin user, per month.

  • Priced on the number of privileged accounts and systems, which is why we scope it before quoting – you get a straight number, not a range.
  • Most businesses start with a handful of accounts and add more as it proves itself.
  • No long tie-in, and no obligation to move the rest of your IT to us.

What it's built on

We run this on Keeper Security, one of the most widely used business password and privileged access platforms in the world, trusted by [add proof point] organisations. It’s built so that only your team can read what’s in your vault – the encryption happens on your own device, which means nobody else can see your credentials. Not the platform, and not us.

You get the same control a large company would buy, set up and looked after by people in Bournemouth who’ll pick up the phone.

Common questions

How is this different from a password manager?

A password manager is for everyday logins, for everyone in the business. This is for the small number of accounts that can change things – where you need to control when they’re used, take access back, and have a record afterwards. Plenty of businesses take the password manager first and add this later.

Do we need a big IT team to run it?

No. We set it up and run it for you. Your part is deciding who should have access to what, and we’ll help you work that out.

Will it get in the way of the people who need admin access?

It shouldn’t. Access is quick to grant and quick to take back – the point is to know it happened, not to make anyone queue for permission.

Does this help with Cyber Essentials or our insurance questionnaire?

Yes. Controlling and reviewing privileged access is one of the things both ask about, and this gives you evidence rather than an assurance. More on the Cyber Essentials page.

What about people who've already left?

Part of the setup is finding out who can currently get in. It’s a common reason businesses call us, and it’s usually the first thing we close off.

Do I have to take your full IT service?

No. This stands on its own, for as long as you want it.

Ready to find out who's got the keys?
