Cyber security for the business you've actually got
Nobody running a twelve-person company needs a security department. What they need is the easy ways in closed off, someone watching the ways that have to stay open, and a phone number that gets answered when something looks wrong.
We build that up a layer at a time – protection on the computers, a lock on the Microsoft 365 accounts, a team who can spot a dodgy email – in whatever order makes sense for your business, at a pace you can afford.
Round-the-clock monitoring. Standalone protection from £ TBC a month – no IT contract required.
Almost nobody kicks the door in
The way a business usually gets caught isn’t dramatic. It’s a convincing email that looks like it came from a supplier, a password reused from a shopping site, or a laptop that quietly missed three months of updates.
Phishing, ransomware, malware, a slow leak of data – the names change, the route in rarely does. And the first sign of trouble is normally somebody else spotting it: a client asking why your bank details changed, or a file that won’t open on Monday morning.
So we’re not going to spend this page frightening you. The job is to close the easy routes in, keep watch on the rest, and make sure a real person picks up if it ever does happen.
What we protect, and where to start
You don’t have to buy all of this. Most businesses we look after started with one layer and added the next when it made sense.
Computer Protection
Every computer, laptop and server watched for anything that shouldn’t be there, with real people reviewing what turns up. Buy it on its own, per computer, per month.
Computer ProtectionMicrosoft 365 Protection
Watches your logins for the signs of a break-in and shuts a compromised account down before someone starts sending invoices in your name. Also standalone.
Microsoft 365 ProtectionManaged Detection & Response
The joined-up version – round-the-clock monitoring across your whole setup, with a security team who act on what they find rather than emailing you a report about it.
Managed Detection & ResponseVulnerability Scanning
Finds the weak spots before anyone else does. The first scan is free and the report is in plain English: what’s at risk, why it matters, what to fix first.
Vulnerability ScanningSecurity Awareness Training
Teaches your team to recognise a phishing email using real examples, not a lecture. No technical knowledge needed.
Security Awareness TrainingHuman Risk Management
Goes further than training – shows you where the risk actually sits in your business, then brings it down over time.
Human Risk ManagementCyber Essentials
The UK government-backed certification that councils, NHS trusts and a growing number of private clients now ask for in tenders. We assess, fix the gaps and handle the paperwork.
Cyber EssentialsEmail filtering sits underneath the lot as standard – phishing, spam and dodgy attachments stopped before they reach an inbox.
You don't need a full IT contract to be protected
This is the bit most providers make awkward. If you’ve got your own IT person, or a setup that works fine, or you simply aren’t ready to hand everything over – you can still take the protection.
Computer Protection and Microsoft 365 Protection are sold on their own, monthly, per computer or per user. No long tie-in, nothing to pay on sign-up, and no obligation to bring us the rest of your IT.
If you’d rather hand the whole lot over one day, we do that too. There’s no rush, and we won’t keep asking.
What it actually gets you
Your data stays yours
Client records, staff details, the things you’d rather not explain in an email to everyone you work with.
Fewer expensive surprises
Recovering from a cyber attack costs considerably more than preventing one, and the bill isn’t only financial.
Customers who keep trusting you
Trust takes years to build and one incident to dent. Being able to say plainly what you do about security is worth having.
Compliance you can evidence
Whether it’s a data protection obligation, an insurer’s questionnaire or a tender document, you can show what’s in place instead of hoping.
Less time lost
Most of what gets stopped would have cost you a morning at best and a week at worst.
Working with us
We’re an IT company in Bournemouth that takes security seriously, rather than a security firm that turns up, sells you something and leaves. Which means the people protecting your systems are the same people who know how those systems are built.
That matters at four o’clock on a Friday. You ring 01202 237 273 and get someone who already knows your setup – not a queue and a ticket reference.
We look after businesses across Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch, Blandford, Ringwood, Southampton and the wider Dorset and South Coast – and we come out when coming out is the right answer.
Getting started
1. Book the assessment
Free, no obligation, and it doesn’t turn into a sales call. We look at what you’ve got and at how your business actually works.
2. We tell you where you stand
A plain-English report: what’s protected, what isn’t, and what we’d fix first if it were our business. If you’re already in decent shape, we’ll say so.
3. You pick the layers
Start with one and add more when you’re ready. No big project, no rip-and-replace. Sorted.
Common questions
The things business owners ask us before they change anything – whether they’re big enough to be a target, what happens if something gets through, and how much of their IT they have to hand over.
Ask us anything that isn’t here. You’ll get a straight answer.
What does cyber security actually cover?
Keeping your computers, networks and data out of the wrong hands – through a mix of software, monitoring and sensible habits. In practice it’s several small layers doing quiet work, not one big wall.
Are we big enough to be worth attacking?
Small businesses are targeted constantly, and usually not on purpose – a lot of attacks are automated and go after whatever answers. Being small makes you easier, not uninteresting.
How do you protect our data?
In layers: encryption where it belongs, monitoring across your computers and accounts, and tight control over who can reach what. No single measure carries the whole weight.
What happens if something gets through anyway?
Where it can be contained automatically, it is. Where it can’t, you hear from us straight away in plain English – what it was and what it means for you. If you want a hand putting things right, we’re one call away.
What is Cyber Essentials?
A UK government-backed certification showing you meet a recognised baseline against common cyber threats. Plenty of tenders now require it, and insurers often price it in. More on the Cyber Essentials page.
Do we have to move our whole IT setup to you?
No. The protection products stand on their own and plenty of businesses take just those. If you want more from us later, that’s your call.
Where do we start if we've never done any of this?
The assessment. It’s free, and it’s the only honest way to answer that question – the right first layer for a five-person accountancy practice isn’t the right one for a forty-person manufacturer.
Find out where you stand
No obligation, no pressure and no scare tactics. We’ll look at what you’ve got, tell you plainly what we’d change, and leave you with a report you can act on whether or not you use us.
Or call 01202 237 273.
